As an Actuary within our International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) business, you will play a key role in ensuring the profitability, financial sustainability, and long-term success of our international health portfolio. Leveraging your actuarial expertise, analytical mindset, and business acumen, you will contribute to pricing strategies, product performance monitoring, reserving activities, and financial reporting.


This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technical excellence and business decision-making, collaborating closely with underwriting, finance, claims, product, and commercial teams in an international environment.


The position is split between the Technical Department, under the leadership of the Chief Underwriting Officer, and the Finance Department, under the leadership of the Chief Finance Officer. You will be supported and mentored by senior actuaries specialized in International Private Medical Insurance.

Your responsibilities


  • Pricing & Product Development

  • Develop and maintain pricing models for international health insurance products, including individual and group business.

  • Analyze claims experience, medical inflation trends, portfolio mix, and market developments to support pricing decisions.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of innovative insurance products.

  • Perform profitability analyses and provide recommendations to underwriting and commercial teams.

  • Evaluate renewal pricing proposals and participate in pricing governance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and best practices.

  • Product Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor the performance of products and portfolios against profitability objectives and business plans.

  • Analyze key performance indicators such as loss ratios, claims frequency and severity, retention rates, and expense ratios.

  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks impacting portfolio performance.

  • Prepare management reports and provide actionable recommendations to improve portfolio profitability and customer value.

  • Work closely with underwriting, claims, finance, and commercial teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth.

  • Reserving & Financial Reporting

  • Calculate and monitor technical provisions, including claims reserves and IBNR reserves.

  • Perform actuarial reserving analyses and assess reserve adequacy using appropriate methodologies.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

  • Contribute to regulatory and financial reporting requirements.

  • Participate in reserve validation exercises, audits, and actuarial reviews.

  • Risk Management & Governance

  • Support risk assessment and risk monitoring activities related to the international health portfolio.

  • Ensure the accuracy, robustness, and documentation of actuarial models, methodologies, and assumptions.

  • Participate in model validation and actuarial governance processes.

  • Provide actuarial expertise and technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.


Your profile


  • You are a fully qualified Actuary (DAV, FIA, or equivalent) or demonstrate significant actuarial expertise through your professional experience.

  • You possess strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

  • You have experience working with large and complex datasets and developing actuarial or statistical models.

  • You are proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, PL/SQL, and SAS.

  • Experience with ETL processes and Business Intelligence tools is considered an asset.

  • You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and VBA.

  • You are comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.

  • You are a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.

  • You are fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages such as French or German would be considered an advantage.
